How often do you find yourself in a chaotic moment, unable to think straight, feeling stressed out, and wondering why you are feeling so out of sorts?

I felt that way often, until one day the Lord spoke to me. (I hear Him speak as thoughts in my mind, repeated, unexpected, not usually something that Loni would think.). This day He spoke to me and said, “You must learn to focus on me, no matter what is happening around you.“

Life is loud. It interrupts us on every side. It was clear I needed to learn to stop, pray, and listen for His voice and direction, no matter how loud it was around me. It has been a process, takes practice, and something I continue to work on almost daily. But I have noticed that I hear Him more often in those loud times. I jump to prayer now when that first instance of feeling out of control hits, when life around me gets chaotic. I have prayed my first (or at least second) reaction would be to turn to Him, listen for His still, quiet voice, and follow His lead to calmness, change of attitude, and reacting as He would want me to - in love, in strength that only He can give, and remembering where my help comes from! A prayer He has answered!

I have prayed for His boldness and wisdom, and He has answered! Time spent in His word gives me scripture to lean on, when other words fail me. His faithfulness amazes me! His love amazes me! Don’t let others tell you who Jesus is! Go find out for yourself By reading His word, praying, and learning how He speaks to you! You will soon see Him and hear Him and focus on Him in the chaos!

Have you ever wondered what the Bible says? Have you tried to read it for yourself and get "bogged" down? In my new book What If? We will look at highlights of the Bible, read it, and then look at "what if" questions for clarity.

Reading the Bible for yourself is important to see what it says, not just what you have been told it says. There are gems of wisdom, history, parenting, marriage, business integrity, and overall mental health help incomparable to anything else we can read!

Will you join me in reading the Bible with new eyes?
